    Resizing image to lower resolution doesn't reduce file size if filename is kept


    Reporting a bug here in Windows Photos.
    I had a couple of photo's I wanted resized. I opened them in Windows photos and clicked the resize button. When I selected 2 MP and saved it under the same filename overwriting the old file it was resized, but the filesize remained the same. Saving it under a different filename does reduce the size.

    File size not reducing when changing image size


    I have just resized it using GIMP. It is now 64kB and is 1000 x 667px with a resolution of 150px/inch

    When I render a video with Windows 10 using a 1366*768 resolution, there are NO black squares on the image but the file size is so huge it is unusable.

    I make videos / screen casts. With old Office I used a lower resolution to reduce the file size.
