Resolution issues - 3440x1440 not an option

I have a Acer Aspire TC-886 running Windows 11 with the HDMI port on a NVIDIA GeForce GT720. I recently purchased a MSI mag342cqr 34" Ultrawide monitor. When I connect the monitor to my HP Elitebook 360 laptop via HDMI cable through a USB-C hub it defaults to 3440x1440 at 100Hz. When i connect it to my desktop it defaults to 2560x1080 at 60Hz. When i try and connect the monitor via the usb-c hub on the desktop it doesn't even recognise that a monitor is plugged in.Any tips?

    :)

  3. Can't output in 3440x1440 resolution

    Hi Mario,

This looks really thorough and very well might solve my problem, but I wanted to clarify a few things first.

My 3440x1440 monitor is actually an extension of my work laptop, which has a default 1366x768 resolution. I need this laptop's OS to output 2 screens of 1366x768 and 3440x1440 simultaneously.

Will your solution work if I intend to use 2 different resolutions? Or will it set the native screen to 3440x1440?

  4. Resolution issues - 3440x1440 not an option

    Can't output in 3440x1440 resolution

    Hello,

My work computer has an integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 and should be able to output 3440x1440 resolution. I've updated all the drivers, and even installed a monitor driver.

My work computer here has HDMI and DisplayPort output, though the DisplayPort is damaged. I tried that connection at first, and found 3440x1440 as on option over the faulty DisplayPort, but not HDMI. I need 3440x1440 over HDMI, this should be possible.

Right now the monitor defaults to 3840x2160 (4K) on HDMI which is totally incorrect, and warped. What else can I do?
