Windows 10: Resolution of the game/computer makes the screen fully black

I've been having a problem since I formatted my notebook. When I start most games and programs that I try to run on it, the program starts but the screen goes black or shows nothing. To be able to use the program I have to put it in window mode and resize that window to a resolution that the program works.


This occurs for example with Age of Empires II DE, Overcooked 2, Streets of Rage 4. Normally occurs when the program doesn't have the resolution compatibility, as the previous examples.


I have an Acer Aspire VX15, and my screen is set to a resolution of 1920x1080. It should be said that I tried to update all video drives and it didn't work either. I also tried to change the resolution of my PC, and didn't work either.

• Is the issue particular to that game or other games also?

This issue could occur if the your playing a game at a different resolution than the desktop resolution.

I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps:

Step 1: I suggest you to check the resolution of the game as well as the resolution with in the computer and see if you are able to play the games in full screen.

You can install Windows 8/8.1 drivers in compatibility mode from Manufacturer's website, if there are no Windows 10 compatible drivers.

Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

• Download the updated driver from the manufacturer’s website.
• Right click the driver installation file and select Properties then tap or click the
  Compatibility tab.
• Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
  
• Tap the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click
  OK.
• Try installing the driver and check.

Black Screen after Log on


Computer boots to windows log on,have no password here.After a minute on log on it go to a black screen,stays there forever. I can get to Task Manager from black Screen,lost on what to do next. Just want my Windows 10 back, not sure what caused this problem. Any Suggestion on what my next step should be?*Sad
