Can't change resolution, which driver should I use for display

Windows update Issue

i waited about 15 minutes then i forced shutdown. i didn't have extra thing plugged in except for power plug but i do have avast antivirus as running at the time of update.

 

Issue in Windows 10 update

I get notification as Updates are available for the following two updates

1. Intel - Other hardware - Intel(R) Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Generic Participant.

2. Intel - Other hardware - Intel(R) Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Manager

When i click install updates i get message as "Your device is up to date. ".

Then I get notification as "Cant Install Update" .

I have been getting this message since long time and every time i click install update i get the message as "Your device is up to date. " and after some time i get message "cant install update".

what is the issue here?

Once we know, we'll be able to give you more specific help.

 

If you are getting screen output on your PC you have a graphics card, be it built-in or an add-on.

 

Download this program and it't tell you what graphics you have.

 

Need a lot more detail.
It seems to be integrated graphics therefore at least say what the processor is.
Or look in the Device Manager > Display adapter.
Tell us what it is otherwise you're going to nowhere fast.

 

Windows 7 is working fine but windows 10 is stuck in wrong resolution

 

Intel havent released a Windows 10 driver for your graphics. The last supported version of Windows was 7.

Sounds like your hardware is quite old. You know its time to start thinking about upgrading when your hardware no longer has driver support.

 

That chipset is almost 10 years old, at least you have a driver that works. I presume that came from a Windows 10 install/updates.

Check the version number of your driver, the last 4 digits, and the dates of driver files, right click for properties sheets.
If those look recent then that's about it as far as a driver goes. Electronic components don't last forever, they have reached retirement age.
You should be thinking about updating hardware rather than trying to get that to work.

 

They've kinda killed support for Intel GMA (X4500 and below). Only Intel HD are supported.
