    Resolve Apricorn USB 3.0 Disconnecting in Windows 10 Surface Tab


    Connected the Apricorn USB 3.0 to my surface tab and could not keep it connected. Finally opened the USB controllers section of device manager and observed the device loading, then when into the properties and UNCHECKED the Allow The Computer To Turn Off This Device setting. It has been connected ever since.

    APRICORN Padlock Pro 1TB Drive keeps disconnecting on Surface Pro in Windows 10. I read through the posts made by the participants of this forum. In the course of solving this problem for me I came across a solution that works for me here is what I did:

    • Search in Cortana for Device Manger
    • Go to Universal Serial Bus Controllers
    • Click the marker to open the drop list
    • Select USB Mass Storage
    • Right Click and Select Properties
    • Click on Power Management Tab
    • Deselect "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power(see below)

    Hello Jimmy, Resolve Apricorn USB 3.0 Disconnecting in Windows 10 Surface Tab :)

    This doesn't list the "Surface Laptop", but you might give it a try to see.

    *Arrow Boot Microsoft Surface from a USB device

    Otherwise, you should be able to use OPTION ONE below to boot from the USB from advanced startup.
