    Resolving audio device port conflicts?

    Hi all,

I have several input and output devices, many which have stopped working due to what I believe are port conflicts that I can't seem to resolve. These have all previously worked on the system.

I have tried updating drivers. I have tried disabling devices. I have tried reinstalling devices but they just seem to come right back with the same problems. Any advice on this? Is there a way to manually delete some of these devices, reinstall, and assign to ports to they don't keep conflicting?

The devices I'm using are listed below:

    • Logitech speakers - work fine - plugged into rear of workstation through 5.1. There were up to four different options listed for "Speakers" at one point but I think I actually deleted those.
    • Logitech webcam - plugged into one of the rear USB ports. video works, audio rarely if ever connects but I've been able to do so by manually picking the input
Oculus Rift - Used to work, then one day, the "Oculus headset" selection stopped working, and another one called "Rift 2" appeared that works, but the oculus app doesn't seem to recognize it it says there is no audio so I need to manually shift sound device to "Rift 2" whenever I put on the headset.
    • Logitech Headset - works fine, no problems - I plug this into one of the front USB ports when I'm using it.
    • Corsair Headset- Recognizes device but neither input or output work anymore. I was plugging this into the same USB port as the logitech headset switching out for whichever one I needed
    • Pixel Buds - Connected by bluetooth. Previously worked fine, now either connect with extremely garbled output and input, or just drop connection as soon as audio starts playing.

Would appreciate any help you could provide. Thanks!

    :)

Rear audio ports always show as “Not plugged in”

I've been having this issue with Windows for about a week now which NONE of the back panel/front panel connectors (speakers, microphone) are being recognized by Realtek audio manager. The only audio input/outputs that are showing are the optical.
Troubling shooting steps I've tried (none worked):

    • COMPLETELY uninstall all Realtek drivers/reinstall
    • Tried using windows drivers
    • Reinstall Windows 10
    • Upgraded chipset driver
    • sfc /scannow
I called EVGA and asked for RMA but then I booted into a Ubuntu OS and all the ports work FINE. It must be a problem with windows 10.
Can you think of any other troubling shooting step I can try to fix this annoying issue? Thanks!

After looking in Device Manager under Audio inputs and outputs, I don't see any speaker/microphone listings, only the optical crap:

  3. Audio Problems

Hi there SimonWildZX, I will be your Independent Advisor for today, I hope we can both resolve your problem.

May I suggest to completely uninstall all Audio drivers listed in the Device manager including the headset. Please make sure to completely remove.

Here is how to do it.

Here the steps to completely remove a Device off your computer.

Step 1. Use shortcut keys Win + X on Windows 10.

    Step 2. Select Device Manager.

Step 3. Expand the entry Sound and Audio devices. Right-click the problematic device and select Uninstall device.

Step 4. You may need to check the option Delete the driver software for this device, and then click the Uninstall button.

    Step 5. Reboot the computer.

Repeat the steps in all the Audio devices listed.

Then reboot. then test the headset again.

    Problem with audio devices

    Hi Marcello,

I appreciate you for trying some steps in order to get the issue resolved.

If you're connecting to an audio device using USB or HDMI, you might need to set that device as the default.

Open Start, enter Sound, select it from the list of results, and then, on the
Playback tab, select a device, then Set Default.

I would also suggest you to turn off Audio enhancements.

    • Go to Start, enter Sound, and select Sound Control Panel
      from the list of results.

    • On the Playback tab, right-click (or tap and hold) the
      Default Device and select Properties.

    • On the Enhancements tab, select the Disable all enhancements
check box and try to play your audio device.

    • If that doesn't work, select Cancel and, on the Playback
tab, select another default device (if you have one), select the Disable all enhancements check box, and try to play audio again. Do this for each default device.
Please revert if you face any issues with Audio.

    Thank you.
