  1. 'Resolving Hosts' issue in Chrome and other browsers now occurs almost daily

About 3 weeks ago I first saw 'resolving hosts' in Chrome when pages weren't loading, or were taking several minutes to load. The same thing was happening in Firefox and Edge at the same time. At that time a reboot seemed to fix it.

Since then it's happened frequently, every few days. I tried a number of things and at first these sometimes seemed to be working, sometimes with a reboot:

    • Changed to public DNS for TCP/IPv4: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

    • Cycling modem and router
    • Clearing browser caches
    • Flushing PC cache
    • Made sure Chrome page preload was off
    • Checked host file
    • Not using a VPN or proxy server
    • Turned off port scan/DoS protection in router previous router

Now I'm encountering 'resolving hosts' almost every single day. Sometimes it happens when I first turn on the PC in the morning. Sometimes in the middle of the day when I'm working, it will suddenly start.

The only thing that now works reliably is typing this in a command window and rebooting:

    netsh int ip reset

Can someone please help me get to the root of this problem? I'd never seen it before about 3-3.5 weeks ago.

    :)

Google Chrome - Resolving Hosts Issue

I'm interested if anyone has information regarding the Resolving Hosts issue on Chrome. For several weeks, while using Chrome, most web pages took quite a long time to load. The browser flashed the message in the lowerbar "resolving hosts". After quite a bit of research, there seems to be some concensus that the fault is with Chrome while running on Win 10. I should metion that I spent quite a bit of time dealing with my ISP, disabling Chrome extensions, re-installing Chrome, basically anything I could think of that might resolve the problem. This included every "fix" I was able to find on the web. Nothing worked.

Finally, I uninstalled Chrome and installed Firefox, which works fine. Two days ago I downloaded the new version of Chrome, and the Resolving Hosts message immediately came back. I uninstalled it but if the problem can be fixed I would like to use Chrome again. Any suggestions?

    Resolving Host - Chrome + Windows 10

    My experience :

Chrome + Windows 10 = endlessly resolving host.

Firefox + Windows 10 = zero resolving host issues.

I guess I wills stick with Firefox, but it would be nice to get Chrome working properly with W10. I have tried just about every suggestion that I have found on the web, but no luck. Anyone want to offer an idea.

    Thx.
