  1. Resource Exhaustion crashes several Microsoft tools

    Hi,

I am working from home and I am getting issues with my workstation. At the middle of my working day, I tools freeze. After multiple times, I was able to spot the following.

First, I get the following event 2004 in Events:

"Windows has successfully diagnosed an out-of-memory condition. The following programs consumed most of the virtual memory: nxplayer.bin 11740 consumed 633540608 bytes, OUTLOOK.EXE 3844 consumed 562978816 bytes and chrome.exe 4660 consumed 459841536 bytes."

After this, applications come back for a second but after that, several microsoft apps crash apps like Microsoft Teams, Outlook.. crash and I am able to see the following errors in the Events:

Faulting application name: Teams.exe, version: 1.3.0.28779, timestamp: 0x5e9f0152

This is a new Windows install I made last Friday 04-Dec-2020.

    My hardware is the following:

    AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor 3.60 GHz

    ASUS B450-f gaming motherboard

    Gainward gtx 1660 super

    16GB RAM

Can you please help? This is frustrating to be kicked out of a meeting due to this issue....

    :)

  2. Low memory and resource exhaustion - Dwm.exe in windows 10

    Hi There,

Issues : Low memory and resource exhaustion - Dwm.exe in windows 10

Information : Just to let you know, when I leave my computer ideal for a while and when I return to it, I get to see a Low memory message. I am on Windows 10 computer (Factory installed - Dell). I wanted to know which application is causing the issue. Opened
the Event viewer and surprisingly I found DWM.exe causing resource-Exhaustion.

Opened services.msc and could not locate desktop windows manager services. Checked in the regedit. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\EventLog\Application\Desktop
Window Manager. There is a service listed.

    Things that I am requesting

    • How to locate dwm.exe (desktop windows manager services) in services.msc
    • How to allocate less memory to this service/ How to stop this service from eating up the entire memory
    • In the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\EventLog\Application\Desktop Window Manager there are 3 things listed
      • Name : Default Type : REG_SZ Data: (Value not set)
      • Event message file Type: REG_EXPAND_SZ Data: %SystemRoot%\system32\dwm.exe
      • TypesSupported REG_DWORD Data: 7
What can be done to stop this service from the Regedit.
Note: Dell Replaced the entire machine and this is a second computer(Same issue). So, could not be a problem with the physical memory modules. Increased Virtual memory and that did not work either.

Resource Exhaustion crashes several Microsoft tools

    all games crash!

    I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
    What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?
