Windows 10: Respondus Lockdown Browser caused "There are currently no power options available." Error...

Hi everyone,My name is Thomas and I work as an IT technician at New Hampshire Technical Institute and I had a few students come to me with this issue. After troubleshooting, I don't know for certain yet if one fix is the definite answer because I did both of these at the same time and used command prompt to force restart the machine.While this was scanning for corrupt files, I also followed the file path below in the registry and set the NoClose value to 0.After the scan from the sfc /scannow was complete and it said it repaired files in command prompt, I used the command shutdown -r to force

Respondus Lockdown Browser

I cannot get respondus lockdown browser to install on my computer. It keeps comming back with a default error. When I click on it , stops installing the program. This is a lock down browser for taking test online. I am running windows 10 upgrade from windows
8. Now running windows 10 home version. The computer is a HP> laptop

 

Fix there are currently no power options available in windows 11.

I was having the same problem as @ NikhilKolhapuri I followed all of the steps above and completed the repair install, however, I still get "There are currently no power options available." The only way I can do a complete shutdown of my computer is to Ctrl+Alt+Delete, Lock, then access the power options from there. This problem started after I had to download Respondus Lockdown Browser for school. I uninstalled it as soon as I was able to, but continue to have the problem despite multiple attempts to resolve it.

Where did you download your Respondus Lockdown Browser?

I heard sometimes this browser cant be closed once kts opened so i suggest hit alt+f4 keys to close the browser. That worked dor some students

If Respondus Browser is still unreponsive, foece shut down your PC.

Make sure it shuts fown and not Sleep so oress the power button for a few seconds

Then, turn on your PC again. You should see your normal screen and now you should be able to uninstall your Respondus Browser
