Windows 10: Restart Apps is OFF, Apps NOT listed in Startup Apps still restarting, even if closed at...

It seems that the feature "froze" or got stuck in a particular state. Whether or not I turn Restart Apps ON or OFF in Settings, the same apps keep turning on after restart: Outlook, Firefox, NVIDIA RTX Desktop, etc. Now, some of the apps that turn on after restart are set to do so under Startup Apps and that's fine e.g. NordPass, Docker Desktop, Teams. But the others are not.What is even stranger is that Firefox goes to the Node.js page, which is not what Firefox is set for when it opens, so it's specifically navigating to this page.Finally, File Explorer opens up to a specific folder C:

How to make patch-able apps

because the installer is a seperate exe.

crude way of doing it, your app checks a file online for latest version of your app and compares it to the version number running, if update is need your app downloads the update installer, once the update has finished downloading your app runs the update installer and closes your main app. update installer runs all updated restart your app.

 

My pc takes for ever to shut down when i restart

Suggest cleaning up your startup list .There may be many services / Apps you can remove on startup which is not needed on boot or during shutdown.
Before you shutdown the Pc check what is running in Task Manager as a program or service in not killing the process on shutdown

Would suggest cleaning up running apps and services -Autoruns, StartupMonitor,HighjackThis,
Malware Scan - Malwarebytes,ADWcleaner, Combofix

So yeah, there's a lot of reasons why Steam Link would get rejected.

App submissions and approvals is a thing between developer and Apple. Valve intentionally let this information leak probably because Apple's restrictive guidlines will never allow Steam Link to be on the store. Valve is hoping the Steam user base makes a lot of noise so Apple grants Valve and exemption. I doubt it will work. Apple loves control and Steam Link is a portal into the Linux/Windows ecosystem. Even if Steam Link were exclusive to Mac OS, Apple would likely demand Valve use Mac OS's remote desktop features rather than Steam Link.

I'd be shocked if Apple allows it.
