    restarting bluetooth


    Hello --- I have an older PC and added a usb dongle to support Bluetooth. It works find, but from time to time it stops working I found some tips on how to correct this - one be just to go to settings -> devices -> bluetooth and turn it on and off I tried that but none of the paired devices noted that "bluetooth is off" Tried to restart the service but that this not work -- I think that there are dependent services that I am not restarting --- is there a way to find the dependent services and restart them in the correct order?

    Bluetooth is not working — troubleshoot claims I don't even have it

    I have done all the following steps:

    - installed bluetooth driver from manufacturer
    - hit windows update
    - updated / uninstalled bluetooth items listed in Device Manager and restarted the PC
    - updated / uninstalled USB drivers listed in Device Manager and restarted the PC (USB drivers automatically came back but not bluetooth)
    - turned on and restarted all bluetooth support in services.msc
    - conducted bluetooth troubleshooting
    - conducted hardware troubleshooting

    Pairing Bluetooth Headphones

    As an additional troubleshooting step, we suggest that you try to change the Startup type for Bluetooth Support Service as Automatic. Here are the steps:



    • In the search box, type services and click on the result.
    • Select and double-click Bluetooth Support Service.
    • Under the Startup type, click on the drop-down menu and change it to
      Automatic.
    • Restart your computer.

    Bluetooth in windows 10

    My computer specs are as listed in the profile. I think all of you guys are correct. I don't have built-in Bluetooth in mobo.

    I contacted skull candy headphones and thy have told me if I do not have built-in Bluetooth, I would need a dongle which supports at least a2dp. I do not know what the heck that means. I have a feeling I would need more than a cheap dongle.

    Anyone suggest some a2dp adapters. I searched but don't know what a2dp is so couldn't make a decision
