Windows 10: Restarting my computer puts up a default screen saver, erases by Word icon, etc.

Every time I restart my computer, my computer comes back with a default screen saver, and my icons such as Microsoft Word and the Davinci Resolve icon disappear. I don't know where either app is currently. Unlike 99% of the community, I am not computer literate, which makes trying to resolve this **** incredibly frustrating. One other major problem is my pictures and videos used to be viewable when I left click in the bottom left search box. The "photos" option used to be there, but even when it was there, when I left click, it doesn't do anything, but now after today's restart, the photos option is not even there. To the users like myself, these changes are for the worse, and are far from seamless.

Let us know what happens exactly when you try to set the screen-saver or put the computer to sleep.

I would suggest you to review he settings and check. Here is the steps:

To change Screen Saver:

• Press Windows/Start key.
• Type Screen Saver and click on Change Screen Saver.
• Select the screensaver from the drop down menu and click on Apply.
• Click on OK.

To put the computer in sleep:

• Press Windows/Start key.
• Type Power and click on Power Options.
• Select Change when the computer sleeps in the left panel.

Step 1: Start the computer in Safe mode.

Step 2:

I suggest you to follow the below steps to uncheck the On resume, display logon screen option in the
Screen saver settings:

• Type screen saver in the search bar from the Desktop.
• Select the Change screen saver.
• Uncheck the On resume, display logon screen option.
