Windows 10: Restore all folders from the taskbar at once ?

A two question post:1. I work with apps that use my entire desktop, I always have 4 - 6 folders open at all times. and sometimes folders get minimized to the taskbar. I'm looking for a windows solution without using any 3rd party apps to...Restore all folders from the taskbar with the mouse or KB combination. Shift+rt-click / restore only restores one single folder on my Win 11 PC, so that option doesn't work.2. I have file explorer set to "restore previous folder windows at logon", but since Ms added the option to open tabs on a single folder, I have noticed that any folder that has an added

Downloads folder is the Documents folder

I suggest you to Restore to Default the folders and document settings and see if it helps.

Step 1:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Download folder.
• Right click on the Download Folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

Step 2:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Documents folder.
• Right click on the Document folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

After performing above steps change the settings as you required and check if it helps.

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

• I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

• Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.
• So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

• Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.

 

Restore taskbar items and preferences after update

Pinned items on the taskbar are stored in your user account folder. If you want to recover your personal configuration prior to the update, we'll need to restore back your PC to the previous version of Windows 10 by performing a
system restore. For the steps on how to perform a
system restore, kindly refer to this support article.

The folder is hidden so we need to enable the option to show hidden files and folders. For the steps on how to perform this task, please refer to this

page. Once done, kindly follow these steps:

• Select the Start
  
  
  button.
• Type File Explorer and then press Enter.
• Navigate to the path below.
  • For taskbar items - C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar
  • For start menu items - C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\StartMenu
  • <username> would be your actual user account.
• Back up the contents of the folders to an external storage device or to
  OneDrive.
• Update your PC again to the latest version.
• Restore back the items by copying and pasting it into the same folders.
