I wish to be able to return my Word Document clipboard to the standard display, i.e., two windows at the left of the screen that are, on the far left, the navigation plane – when open – and adjacent the clipbaord. I changed them recently to work on a document clipboard on the left – navigation on the right, but haven't manged to change them back as they were. I have found instructions with searches that explain how to go back to default settings, but they are unduly complicated – or just explained in that way, and I have downloaded some fonts that I don't want to lose.If anyone could explain

    :)

Is there is way to restore navigation pane scroll effect of Vista

I actually never use the navigation pane. It is always all collapsed.

But the functionality as the OP asks is there, I wanted to say it only. Probably he wants to use it, and if he is a long time user of the navigation pane, he should be able to manage the length of the pane.

How to get horiz scrolling in Navigation Pane in Win 10 Explorer

    Welcome to TenForums @linuxgarou

One suggestion would be to hover the mouse over the dividing line between the navigation pane and the list of files (it's the right-hand edge of the navigation pane's vertical scroll bar). When the pointer becomes a double-headed arrow you can click-and-drag to make the navigation pane wider.

I have mine set to about twice the width of the one in your screenshot.

Edit: and so apparently does Ztrucker in the following post.

Preview pane not functional / causing system issues

    Hi,

We can see here that you're having an issue with using the preview pane for File Explorer. Since using the preview pane affects the CPU usage when trying to view Office files, we could suggest that you changed your File Explorer View setting into the Navigation
pane by performing the following steps:

    • Open File Explorer.
    • Click on the View tab.
    • Select Preview pane to remove it from being highlighted.

Once done, try to open files using Office apps and check if this helps your Surface Pro 4 works fine.

We look forward to your reply.
