Windows 10: Restore Default Font settings button

In Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Fonts\Font Settings, the button labeled "Font settings" does not work although when pressed it appears to work. I even left it pressed overnight but no joy. Any help appreciated.

• When you say ''Tried the one in the font menu but it didn't work!
  ‘’did you tried the option Restore default fonts settings? If not you can try the below steps.

Restoring Default Font on Windows 10

By default, when you click on Restore default font settings, everything will be grayed out. The check mark will automatically appear in the box that shows
Hide fonts based on language settings. You won't be able to click the
OK button, and that's fine.

If you restored the default font settings, and nothing has changed, you may answer the following questions for further isolation:

• Were there any changes made on your PC prior to this?
• Does it only occur when you check your emails?
• What is your email provider?
• How do you access your email, via a browser or an app?
