Windows 10: Restore Hard disk files from Backup on Windows 11 to Windows 10

Hi Everyone, I had Windows 11 Laptop, on which I have taken System Image Backup Includes SSD and HDD Backups in .vhdx into an external Drive.Now I brought a new laptop which has Windows 10 in it. I just need the Hard Disk Files in .vhdx to be restored to my new hard drive, retaining windows 10 in new laptop.Please help me in resolving this issue.Thank you all

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Free hard drive backup/restore program?

I am looking for a free (freeware) program that will back up and restore a hard drive. I'm looking to clone a few external hard drives. If the program will backup the used space instead of the whole drive this will be awesome! Thanks for any suggestions.

 

How to Restore Windows 10 Backup on Windows 7 ?

To restore your files you need to do this:

1. Find the .vhd file on your backup medium. It is in a structure similar to this one:
   
   E:\WindowsImageBackup\PC\Backup 2015-11-05 085942\57f352ed-ad74-11e2-b151-806e6f6e6963.vhd
2. Launch the Disk Manager (diskmgmt.msc).
3. Click Action, then Attach Virtual Hard Disk.
4. Use the Browse button to locate the file you found in Step 1 above, then click OK.
5. Note the new drive letter that Windows assigned. It could be G:. If no drive letter was assigned, right-click the new disk and give it a drive letter.
6. Use Windows Explorer to open drive G: and retrieve your files.
7. When finished, close Windows Explorer.
8. Go back to the Disk Manager.
9. Right-click the new disk on the left side of the panel where it says "Basic" and "Online".
10. Click "Detach VHD".

To restore your apps you must re-install them.
