Windows 10: Restore Monitor Resolution

I installed and opened the game SWTOR but when it opened it changed the resolution, bigger than my monitor supports, showing the message "Out of Range", normally Alt+Tab and closing the game fix the problem, but the alt+tab did not work, so i had to turn off the pc on the power button, but when it turn on, it had the same message "Out of Range", so i was looking for help online, they said to press F8 when booting to open options and select Safe Mode, but on my PC it open the BIOS from ASUS instead, looks like is because i'm using SSD. So the other option was use a Win10 CD to repair, when i try to Restore the System it says it cant find the windows instalation, i tried the Prompt and use the cmd BCDEDIT /set {default} safeboot minimal, but it says cant find either, it shows X:\Sources, but the SDD is C:. So what should i do?

What exactly happens when you try to change the screen resolution? Do you get any error message?



The recommended resolution on windows 10 is 1920 x 1080. Change the resolution to 1920 x 1080 and check.

The reason why your display was stretched sideways is because the resolution was in-corrected.



Here are the steps to change the screen resolution:

• Right Click the Desktop and select
  Screen Resolution.
• Click the Make text and other items larger or smaller link.
• In the Change only the text size section click the
  drop down menu to select the items you want to change.

Since I sent you the last message I restarted my computer and lo and behold the problem is resolved. The screen is perfect. I am not sure what I did but whatever it was worked.
