Windows 10: Restore

I am trying to clean my disc for donate my computer. I went to Settings, Security, restore and told it to erase all data and apps. It starts to reinstall Windows, runs fine till it asks to select Keyboard Layout, at this point the mouse wont work and I can't select anything. I have tried more than once with a wireless mouse and a hardwired mouse.What do I need to do?

Restoring Windows 10 Image using Macrium Reflect


In addition to the above. Here's my suggestion in step by step.
I assume you have Macrium Installed in your current HD and already made a backup copy.

1. Connect your new HD via USB port and boot up.
2. Run Macrium, click on Restore tab then select the Backup Image that you made to restore
3. click on "select a different target disk" then select your new HD as destination
   
   
   
4. Proceed to restore then Shutdown and disconnect the old HD and replace with the new HD
5. Boot up with your new HD.

Turn off system restore in XP altogether...or if you dont want to, AsRocks suggestion should work :\

To address your concern, we suggest that you try to undo the restore or pick another restore point.

Please follow these steps to access system restore:

• Right-click (or press and hold) the Start button, and then select Control Panel.
  
• Search Control Panel for Recovery.
  
• Select Recovery > Open System Restore > Next.
