Windows 10: Restored user not showing

So, the story goes like this:

I recently made a backup so that I can restore it after I swapped my HDD for an SSD. The disk is swapped and I've restored my files.

The current user account (after disk swap) does not have the same name as my previous one (before disk swap), so Windows made a user with the same name as the previous one and restored all the files there.

When I go to Local Disk (C > Users, I can see folders with the names of my current and previous users, but I can only log into the current user and I can't find my previous user when I log in.

So how do I log into my previous account?

The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.

 

Restoring Windows 10 Image using Macrium Reflect


In addition to the above. Here's my suggestion in step by step.
I assume you have Macrium Installed in your current HD and already made a backup copy.

1. Connect your new HD via USB port and boot up.
2. Run Macrium, click on Restore tab then select the Backup Image that you made to restore
3. click on "select a different target disk" then select your new HD as destination
   
   
   
4. Proceed to restore then Shutdown and disconnect the old HD and replace with the new HD
5. Boot up with your new HD.

 

I restored my windows tablet and now the inlogscreen says “another user”
