Restoring Backup: users\me\Documents not same as PC\Documents

Before a reinstall I backed up my files to an external HD. I restored the backup by copying the Documents directory and its contents to

C:\users\me, including the Outlook subdirectory of Documents. I started Outlook up, and it created a new pst file, in the Documents folder in 'Quick access'. So one way or another, Quick access\Documents is not the same directory as my C:\users\me\Documents directory, and I cannot copy the contents of the latter directory to the first. How can I fix this?

    :)

Cheap automatic backup for My Documents

Then use the Robocopy command. Here is the bat file I use to backup my data:

Code: @Echo. @Echo Backing Up @Echo. @robocopy C:\Users\Administrator\Documents C:\Backup\Documents /MIR /ZB >> log.txt @Echo. @Echo Success! @Pause[/quote] This will only backup files that are new or changed, so after the first backup, it is a lot quicker than recopying every file every time you backup. Also if you delete a file from your documents folder, say because you don't need it anymore, it will be removed from the backup location also.

    Restore deleted documents on onedrive

Why would you empty the Recycle Bin? This serves no purpose!

Do you have an external backup of your important files?

    You could try this method:

    1. Right-click the folder you emptied.
    2. Left-click Restore previous version.
    3. Follow the clues.
When finished, review your backup philosophy. A single user error should never cause such problems!
