Windows 10: Restoring previous versions of a TIFF file

Hello,

Not sure if I should be asking about it here, sorry. I was working on my TIFF file in Photoshop CS5.1, when my computer shut down completely. It turned back on and I checked on the file, but it now says it's unable to be opened, not by Windows, nor by Photoshop or anything else. There is no preview. I tried to repair it with a whole lot of softwares and it's still corrupted. I haven't turned File History on and I stupidly haven't made any backup, so I couldn't use Windows' restoring previous versions tool. Any ideas what else can I do? Can I restore previous versions of this file any other way?

Previous versions of files in restore point


Searched, didn't see this one.

One of the most useful features of Win 7 was when you could pull a previous version of a file out of the restore point. But now when I go to configure a system restore it isn't listed as an option as it was in 7. However, in a context menu on any file it still lists it as an option. Is this just gone or a huge bug?

 

converting multiple tiff files into one

Hello SNOHOMY,

Open the Word file and then click File->Print from the application menu.

Choose TIFF Image Printer 11.0 from the list of printers and then click the Print button.

Enter the location and filename for the TIFF file and then click Save.

Open the JPEG image and click File->Print from the application menu.

Choose TIFF Image Printer 11.0 from the list of printers and then click the Print button.

Enter the same filename, choose TIFF Multipaged (*.tif) and check Append to file, then click Save.

Now open the Excel spreadsheet and click File->Print from the application menu.

Enter the same filename, choose TIFF Multipaged (*.tif) and check Append to file, then click Save.

Now all 3 files are merged together in a single TIFF file.

changing TIFF to JPEG

You can use Microsoft Paint to convert TIFF files to JPEG format. To do so, kindly refer to the steps below:

• Open the file that you would like to convert using Microsoft Paint.
• Go to the File menu.
• Select Save As and click on the JPEG
  picture option from the menu.
  
• Choose your desired location on your computer, enter the file name, and click on the Save
  button to save and convert the TIFF file to a JPEG format.
