  1. Restoring the ability to dock the touch keyboard on large touchscreens

I am an avid touchscreen user, and frequently type on my Surface Studio 2 using the onscreen touch keyboard. In both Windows 10 and in Windows 11 on smaller screens, the keyboard can dock at the bottom of the screen, shifting screen content up so that the touch keyboard does not cover text input boxes, chats, etc. But for some reason, with screens larger than 18", Windows 11 does not allow the docking of the touch keyboard, and the button to dock that appears in the upper right is removed. This may seem small, but being unable to type without covering up the window I am typing in is enough

  2. Lumia 950XL using wired dock and Dell S2240T touchscreen monitor: Touch input not recognized after device sleep/wakeup

I have a setup that consists of the following:

    Dual SIM Lumia 950XL

    Wired Continuum Dock

HP Bluetooth Keyboard (From an HP Touchpad)

    Dell S2240T Touchscreen Monitor

The setup works fine for the most part, although there are some quirks. The most annoying of which is that if the phone goes to sleep, when I wake it the touch ability of the monitor Is lost. Disconnecting the USB input from the monitor and reconnecting
it restores the touch ability as does disconnecting the phone from the dock and reconnecting it. So it appears to be an issue with the phone not recognizing the USB devices when it wakes up from sleep mode.

I have to keep allowing the device to sleep because my company requires a lock screen and timeout for security when connecting to their exchange server.

    Any suggestions?

  3. Dock function in the On-Screen Keyboard.

    Hello Andre,

Thank you for posting you query on Microsoft Community Forums.

The dock option in on-screen keyboard is by design and it is enabled only when you use a touch enabled computer. The dock option works similar to a window which maximizes and you cannot move the particular window around.

When you click on dock option, it switch the on-screen keyboard from fixed to the bottom of the screen with full screen mode.

I would suggest you to follow the methods given below and check.

    Method 1:

Try to run a System File Checker (SFC) scan to check for any file corruption.
SFC scan will scan for corrupt system files on the computer and repair them.

    • Press Windows key + X, click Command Prompt (Admin).
    • In the Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

      sfc /scannow
If the issue still exists, try the next method.

    Method 2:

You may check the same issue with the new user account.

Try these steps to create a new user account and check if it fixes the issue. Refer to the steps below to create a new User Account:

    • Go to Settings.
    • Choose Accounts and then select Other User Accounts towards the left.
    • Select Add an Account.
    • Enter a user name and hit Next.
    • Click on Finish.
    • Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.
    • Check if issue persists.
Hope this information is helpful. Do let us know if you need any further assistance, we'll be glad to assist you.

  4. Restoring the ability to dock the touch keyboard on large touchscreens

Windows 10 touch keyboard doesn't dock

I tried to find this answer by myself for 3 hours, but I failed. I need some help.

While I was using Windows 8 touch keyboard, I can click the maximize button from the touch keyboard, which makes the keyboard dock at the bottom of the screen (not hover). In this case, I can see the whole maximized program window from top to bottom (iexplorer,
notepad, chrome, anything!) above the touch keyboard.

But, Windows 10 touch keyboard doesn't dock at the bottom. It looks like it is located at the bottom of the screen but actually it is located over the programs. I can't see the bottom contents because it is covered by touch keyboard.

Is there any option I can choose to change? or bug? or need to find other touch or virtual keyboard.

If it is not working, I need to go back to windows 8.

    Please help me!
