    If I, as administrative account holder, access an external drive by using the BitLocker code, will another user of the PC, with a standard local account, also be able to access the contents of this external drive? Or will this other user also need to enter the Bitlocker code from their account in order to access the drive?My intention is to prevent other non-administrative users from accessing the external drive file contents.thank you

    I realized your concern and will assist you to resolve the issue.


    • How did you noticed that user is still able to access the drive?

    • Did you log into the local user account and check the permission?
    I suggest you to follow the steps below to restrict the user.

    • In File Explorer, right click on the drive which you want to restrict.
    • Click Properties.
    • Click the Security tab.
    • Click on Edit to change the permissions.
    • Uncheck all the permission for system.
    • Click OK and make sure the change is applied to all subfolders and files.

    Local account with restricted access?

    Sorry, doesn't help. I know how to create local accounts, but I want ones that are
    restricted, as in only able to go to whitelisted websites and only accessing apps from the store installed by an admin with a Microsoft account. Why did they take this away in Windows 10?

    I serve voluntarily as tech support for my religious place of worship. We have a Windows 8.1 machine available for member use, with a local administrator account for those like me, and a local child account for general use that uses website whitelists and
    app restrictions. We would like to upgrade this machine to Windows 10 but we do not want to have to create a Microsoft account to maintain the restrictions on the one user account. Did Windows 10 remove the ability to put restrictions on local accounts? Or
    is there another way that scenarios like this could be set up?
