Windows 10: "Restrictions: This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this...

I am the admin. Haven't made any group policy changes since install of the OS a month ago because another update corrupted the OS completely for the 3rd time in a few years and verified it wasn't my AV software. No new installations on my part, just Windows updates. I will run sfc and the other typical commands for system repair. Just seems Windows updates are becoming less stable than before, which wasn't great but never this consistently concerning.

Operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect

Hi All

I logged on as Administrator on a PC and did a change in group policy to allow certain programs to run for users.

My thinking was that this will not affect the Administrator Account.

Now I want to go back to group policy but then I get the message Operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect.

In fact the message appears for all applications that I did not include in the list.

Help needed in getting to undo this setting.

This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer.

Due to a separate issue I went to use the Event Viewer App and was greeted with the following error:

"This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer."

This error also pops up when I use attempt to use the following Windows Tools:

- Event Viewer

- Component Services

- Computer Management

- Local Security Policy

- Performance Monitor

- Print Management

- Services

- Task Scheduler

- Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security

My Windows version is Windows 11 Pro.

I do not remember messing around with any sort of settings that would have placed these restrictions on my PC.

 

Issue "Restrictions: This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer....."

I have some issues with my windows. One of them is this restrictions. When i open "Power Shell", "Change folder and search option", and some program, there will notice "Restrictions: This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this
computer. Please contact your system administrator".

I have try to resolve this problem.

1. I have check that my account is Administrator

3. I try to manage form Local Group Police Editor, but there is no option. Some one tell me that no LGPE in Windows 10 Home

2. I deleted "DisallowRun" from \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\. But, when i restart my pc, this register file appears again

Any body can help me?
