    Not yet.
    I might have to wait until I get a machine to refurb to test, then restore the original OS. I'd like it to be a clean real world test - not a virtual test.

    Other members have exercised Activated with a Digital License tied to a MS account and that seems to work.

  3. I'll post what I find out when I test ... it might be a while (weeks or months)

    It's why I created the thread - I have a retail Win8 Pro license, the free upgrade stated that it was a one-for-one upgrade (at least it did at one time), meaning a Win8 retail upgraded entitles Win10 retail. I was curious about the details when news about the activation troubleshooter came out.

    Worst case, I won't be able to transfer the license without contacting MS. No big deal, unless the retail transfer is denied. I've always had good results when contacting MS, this is a new scenario though ... we shall see.

    This machine will probably be in service for a few more years, there is no immediate impetus other than knowing if and how it works.

    Now, thats an experiment I'd like to see the results. Or try in near future.
