Windows 10: Retain Location Information on Images when transfering pictures from Android to Windows PC

Hi,I am using phone link to transfer images from my android to Windows.On the phone, the picture taken from Camera has Location informationLocation Tag, GPS Details Etc.But when i transfer the picture to windows using phone link the location Information is not transferred. Meaning, the picture on the windows laptop does not have the location details.However if i use a Data cable and transfer the image , location details are transferred. I tried most settins on windows as well as android to ensure the location details are included, but it did not work.So, does phonelink remove the location

Re transferring pictures to Window 10

I just transferred pictures to Windows 10 from my Samsung Galaxy Android phone. The pictures were transferred but they are in a separate list and I cannot transfer any of them as as attachment or to my Facebook account. Any suggestions.

Hi Mostafa,

Can you walk me through the steps on how are you trying to copy the files to your Windows 10 device. Based on your post, your android phone is showing on device manager. Can you verify if your android device is shown in File Explorer (On your keyboard, press
Windows + E. Then, check if the device is shown).

If the android device is shown in File Explorer, you can manually copy the files to your Windows 10 device by following these steps:

1. On your keyboard, press Windows + E.
2. Double click the file name of your android phone.
3. Locate the folder where the files you want to transfer is stored.
4. Highlight all the files you want to transfer.
5. You can either press Ctrl + C (this will just copy the files and retain the copy on your phone), or press
   Ctrl + X (this will move the files from the phone to the Windows 10 device, this will delete the copy from he phone).
6. Navigate through your Windows 10 device on where you want to store the files.
7. Once your on the desired location, press Ctrl + V (this will paste the copied files to this location).

Correct Directory Location For Pictures Folder

"Now Documents, Videos etc say file location is This PC. But Pictures file location is C:\Users\PeteyBoPetey\Pictures."

If we understand you correctly, the issue is that Pictures doesn't appear in the left panel under This PC. The correct location IS C:\Users\PeteyBoPetey\Pictures. This is only an issue of using Step 8 in the tutorial to add it back to the list. See if this screenshot is what you want to achieve- put Pictures folder back in list on L.
