Windows 10: Retrieve back my license after formatting my laptop

Hello MS Community,


I am have Windows 10 Education N on my laptop. I am planning to format my laptop, but I do not know how to retrieve back the license while I have lost the product key I used the first time.


Please, guide me how to re-activate my Windows 10 after formatting.

How To Format A Write Protected Flash Memory ?

Run CMD


1. diskpart
2. list disk

Then in the 3º step, put the correct number of disk in the list for the usb flash (if it's listed in disk 3, then you'll have to write select disk 3).

2. select disk #
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

with that commands you will format the flash drive in fat32, if you have a large drive you can select also "format fs=ntfs" in step 7.

Retrieving a Win10 pro license from another computer

Hi,

I've just bought a new laptop and would like to transfer my win10 pro license from my previous laptop. This license was synchronized on my Microsoft account. However, I'm unable to transfer the license from the old laptop to the new laptop, because the option
is not available in the "troubleshooter" in the category "activation" of the parameter panel.

• My old laptop broke one year ago, so i'm unable to retrieve the key

Are there a page on the Microsoft website to manage the license?

Are there any way to retrieve the license through the windows 10 account?

 

Retail Vista license format on Toshiba laptop, possible OEM.

A friends Toshiba laptop just got hosed and he never made a system backup of his factory OS/programs. I own Vista Ultimate 32/64 and want to format and fresh install his OS with my disk. I am not sure at this time if his COA is OEM or what. Will I be able to format with my disk on his lappy and have it accept his license?
