Windows 10: Retrieving archived mail

Important emails accidently archived rather than moved to folder. How do I get them back? Help!

Archived mails are missing in Windows 10 Mail App.

I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue.

Follow the Steps below and check.

Step 1: Check the sync settings in Mail app.

• Open Mail app and Hoover mouse point on top.
• Next to Search icon you can seen Sync this View.
• Click on the icon and let it Sync.
• Close and reopen Mail app and check Archived mails.

If issue persist follow next Step.

Step 2: Run the Windows App Troubleshooter.

Locate archived mail in Windows 10 Mail

When you use 'NEW Mail" in Windows 10 Mail one of the listings that appears at the top of the page is the word "Archive".

How do you locate a file that is put in "Archive"?

Hello,

Let me simplify this.

Archiving an email is moving and placing it in a Archive folder, where it will continue to exist but will no longer be cluttering your inbox. Moreover these mails will still be accessible in the future if required.

You can find those mails in your Archive folder. When you click
Expand on top, you can find the Archive
folder down there on left pane (I.e. Refer the Picture below). If you want to move the mail back to your inbox from Archive, then you can just drag them and drop to your inbox.



If you don't find a folder labeled as Archive, then try to re-launch the Mail app, after restarting your PC post complete shutdown. Do check for any available update for Mail and Calendar app from Windows Store. If any, try to update and
see if problem still occurs.

If problem still persist, then remove and re-create Mail account in Windows Mail app.

• Launch Mail App from start menu, then click the
  Settings (I.e. Gear Icon) in the lower left of the Mail App.
• Select Accounts on the right side menu.
• Click the account you want to remove, then click Delete, and
  Yes to verify deleting the account information.
• Once done, click the + Add account, Select, Gmail, Yahoo, or other for the appropriate account, then input the username and password for the account, follow the prompts till complete.
