Windows 10: return to pre-installed Win 8 from Win10

An ASUS q500a purchased in 2012 w/Windows 8 pre-installed. Not long later I give it to my mom.In 2017 my mom complains that this pc has gotten very slow. I notice boot up is slow, opening apps is slow, and the computer always seems busy - because it's slow? This computer is a lightly used and my mom is afraid of updates - I am old school I clean up old files, defrag & do updates. The result is that the computer gets slower.In 2019 I talk to an MS Tech who tells me the computer is slow because the motherboard is not compatible w/Windows 10 and that I have to restore to Windows 8. You can download, create a bootable copy and perform a direct clean install.

How do i get to internet options in win10. Win 10 pre-installed. I want to manage passwords intenally

win dual boot win10 win8.1 problem

I tried to install win 10 on different partition with same results. When the installation reboots, the only option listed in the boot was win 8.1.

bcdedit list only the win 8 bootloader. if I do bcdedit in the win 10 it also only list one process and that is win10. The install option was custom, trying to create multi boot system.
