Windows 10: Reuse Retail Windows Key

Hi,


I purchased a windows 10 key online back in 2018 because at that time I tried to install windows 10 for my MacBook, but I finally gave up and I deleted windows OS. However, recently I started building custom PC and I wonder if I can directly reuse that license key to activate windows 10 on my new PC. I saw posts about transferring license to a new PC, but in my situation there is no windows 10 using my license key right now, do I have to do anything? Or I just simply go ahead and activate, thank you!

I'm asking the second thing, if I can reuse my windows 7 key on another machine without any problems. (sorry, I see I forgot to mention it in the original post ^^)

Hey guys,

I'm selling my 1 year old laptop (laptop 2 in sig), which came with Vista OEM.
I installed windows 7 on it with a key from MSDN. My best friend(the buyer) will format the laptop before he gives it to his sister, so I wanted to know how I can reuse my key for a new pc in the future.

I googled a little bit, but I couldn't find a clear answer. Will I have to call Microsoft or something?

Reusing a retail Windows 7 upgrade

Is it possible to reuse a retail version Windows 7 upgrade on a computer pre-installed with Vista? The previously upgraded computer that had the Windows 7 is no longer in use. Thanks.
