reusing HDD - BIOS sees it, but Windows does not

Got my SSD working with a fresh install of Windows, and wanted to use the 1.0TB HDD that was in there as a secondary data storage drive now. It was the main drive of the computer originally. So I have the 500GB SSD on SATA0, and I hooked the HDD up to SATA1. I have the BIOS set to boot from the SSD. That part works - boots into Windows fine. But Windows doesn't see the HDD at all. I go into Disk Management and it doesn't show up. I went to Powershell and did "get-disk" and it only sees the SSD. What am I missing? The only quirk I see is that the SSD is showing under Legacy in the BIOS and the

After upgrading to Windows 10 - 2nd and 3rd HDDs cannot be seen??????

    Hi,

What is the make and model of your computer?

I suggest you to check in BIOS setting whether both the HDD are listed there. You may get in touch with your computer manufacturer or refer to the user manual on how to enter BIOS settings.

If it is listed in BIOS, you may check whether you are able to see both the HDD in Disk Management. Follow the steps to check:

    Press Windows Key + X.

    Click on Disk Management.

Please reply us with the required information to assist you further.

    USB HDD: IN BIOS

Hi AJAY, in modern BIOS (UEFI) it is normal to have USB devices listed, such as USB HDD without drive being plugged in.

In older Legacy BIOS, a drive would have to be plugged in for it to be listed in BIOS, but not no londer . . .
