Windows 10: revert File Explorer to original

My File Explorer is messed up completely. I store very few items but suddenly IF I am able to download anything in Edge I am unable to find it anywhere in the folders listed in navigation. And the navigation left pane lists every folder category: Quick Access, This Pc, One Driveuninstalled, Libraries, Recovery Driver D not C, etc. It used to list only Quick Access and This PC plus drivers C & D.


I need to completely reset, renew or restore File Explorer to its original state. Is there an easy method to do that? It must be cleaned up because it is unusable now. It first become acting weird after I attempted to uninstall and stop using OneDrive. Even though OneDrive no longer appears anywhere on my PC EXCEPT in File Explorer, where Edge is was sending some my downloads or documents.


Is a restore of only File Explorer possible without doing a complete Windows 10 reinstall? I am using:

HP desktop - Windows 10 - version 2004 - build 19041.685

Edge chromium 87.0.664.66

File Explorer not responding in Windows 10

I performed the suggested steps and File Explorer is still not working. However, my display is messed up and I want to revert back to the original display adapter that was uninstalled. The display adapter (Nvidia) is not shown in Device Manager. How
can I get it back? I did not remove the software. Thanks for any help.

 

Pin File Explorer to Taskbar

I have gone through all of the recommended steps for pinning File Explorer to the task bar and nothing works. Any suggestions as to why this is happening?

The issue that you’ve encountered regarding the File Explorer may be caused by some configuration or files mismatched. To sort out your concern, we suggest that you reset the folder settings from the
Folder Options. This will reboot the folder’s preferences to its default state and remove any possible software conflict. To do this, you may follow these steps:

• Click Start, type File Explorer, and press
  Enter.
• On the File Explorer window, click the View tab > Options > Change folder and search options > View.
• Under the Folder views section, click Reset Folders, and then select
  Yes to confirm.
• Once you’re done, click OK, and then check if the issue persists.

Note: This process will remove the list of files that you recently opened.
