  1. revert moving appdata roaming to another drive, back to c:\ drive

I decided to move my appdata roaming folder by using the location tab to another drive. I now have two appdata roaming folders one in c:\ drive and one in d:\ drive. after further googling i found out that i should really keep the roaming folder on the c:\ where it belongs.

I need help on how to safely revert what i did and keep one roaming file on my pc which should be on c:\ drive where it was originally.

    :)

%appdata% on Failed Drive | Move Thunderbird Profile to New Drive

%appdata% is just an enviroment variable that the system uses as a shortcut to C:\Users\xxxxxxxx\AppData\Roaming

xxxxxxxx is your user account. If you open a Command Prompt and enter echo %appdata% you would see something like this (what shows on my PC).

    C:\Users\ztruk>echo %appdata%
    C:\Users\ztruk\AppData\Roaming

so as clam1952 said, show hidden files and folders then you can browse for it on the old drive. The difference being the drive letter will not be C:, it will be what ever letter the system has assigned to that drive/partition.

Yea don't delete the C:\Users\******\AppData\Roaming folder, just delete the CONTENTS of

    C:\Users\******\AppData\Roaming\IDM\DwnlData\***** *

Just delete the files, not the folder. Sorry for that, been up all night...

revert moving appdata roaming to another drive, back to c:\ drive

AppData/Roaming, folder too large to transfer but it's a must do...

I'm a little confused after reading this so maybe this suggestion is completely irrelevant, but why not move the entire users folder to a new drive? Kari has a nice tutorial on how this is done found here: Move Users Folder Location

Not sure if that would work off an external drive or not, however. Maybe buy a large capacity flash drive and leave it plugged in at all times?
