    Ridiculously High Physical Memory Usage Compared to CPU


    Hi, yesterday my gaming laptop with around 8gb of RAM started to struggle to run things like google chrome without nearly crashing because of the ridiculous level the physical memory usage is at. I've tried several ways of fixing it but am at a loss for what to do.


    This is my task manager bar running nothing but automatic taskbar processes and one empty google chrome tab. The actual memory usage does not add up and I've tried most of the tips that the internet community has provided.

    For better assistance, we'd like to know the following:

    • Were there any changes made to your computer prior to this issue?
    • Have you tried running your anti-virus to scan your computer?
    • Were there any apps running when getting a high CPU usage?
