Windows 10: Ridiculously High Storage Used Up for [System & reserved]

I know that System & reserved are used for window updates, but with other people I have seen online they have only a few GB used up, but my computer is using 338 GB. I bought this new computer with 512 GB ssd but then windows is basically using everything.

I have followed the tutorial on this article but it is not working

I have went into Registry Editor and changed the "ShippedWithReserves" value from 1 to 0 and restarted my computer, but then it is still the same.

I would like to decrease the amount of space used up for System & reserved, any help would be appreciated.

High System and reserve storage

I had encounter high system and reserve usage. when i first receive warning from window about high storage i deleted some few GB of app and files. However the storage keep filling up within the next 3 days and i would receive the same warning on high storage
usage. i found that the system & reserved is taking up more than half of my hard disk space even i had disabled system restore point. Please assist me on this.

Disable Reserved Storage

that is system reserved, the disk space taken by windows and is not the reserved storage feature.

although that does seem more than a little high, i suggest you run a clean up including system files

click start, type disk clean-up

select c: drive and click ok

click the clean up system files button

select c: drive and click ok

i would suggest selecting everything but you may want to check through the list

click OK

your version is also over a year old, i would suggest upgrading to 1909

use Andre Da Costa's illustrated guide to perform a repair upgrade.

System & Reserved almost full?

High System & Reserved memory usage could be due to the following:

• High Windows.old file(s) size
• Large cache of trace files size
• Windows 10 system file issues

We would like to know some information to better isolate the issue:

• Do you have a C:\windows.old folder on your C: drive?
• Which Windows version and build are you using? Type winver on search box and press
  Enter.
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Can you post a screenshot of what is inside the System & reserved storage? Double-click System & reserved. See picture below for reference.
