Windows 10: Right click any drives on the navigation pane crashed window explorer but right click any...

This is a HP Z840 with a 3060ti and Tesla P40, running Windows 10. After recent update haven't update the machine for a while, whenever I click on anything on the navigation pane, windows explorer will crash and left me with a blue blank screen and the mouse cursor. The screen doesn't response to mouse click. I can bring up Task Manager with CTRL-ALT-DEL. However, it works normally when I right-click on drives of the File/Folder listing pane. Left-click anything on the navigation pane works normally. Otherwise, I haven't noticed anything abnormal. I have performed the following:1.

Explorer crashing when right clicking folders on Navigation Pane

Recently I've been experiencing a weird problem with Windows 10. Right clicking any folders on the pane on the left - the one with folders, libraries etc. causes explorer to freeze and then crash.

I can right click on files and folders in the main explorer window. This problem only occurs when I try to right click on something in the navigation pane.

What could cause this?

 

File Explorer crashing whenever Quick Access items in Navigation Pane are right-clicked or opened in new window

Title says it all. Right click other items in the Navigation Pane doesn't crash File Explorer. I can open my drives and other directories in new windows without crashing. But the moment I right click the items pinned in Quick Access, File Explorer immediately crashes. Right-clicking Quick Access itself is fine, and changing File Explorer to opening to Quick Access and right clicking the items that appear in the Explorer itself is also okay, no crashes happen.

I've tried setting File Explorer to open to This PC, I've cleared Quick Access history, reset it to defaults, deleted some files in AppData, reset File Explorer in RegEdit, still no fix.

NVIDIA CPL Context Menu Extension is indeed the culprit. Eventually I would like to be able to reenable the shell extension. Is this an Nvidia or a microsoft issue? I wonder if either are even aware of the issue.
