  1. Right click menu on an item in a OneDrive folder keeps closing until update is finished

Has anyone ever noticed how annoying it is to right click on a file or a folder for example to see its properties and before you even have time to select anything in the right click menu, it closes right before your eyes. You right click again, and the same things happen... And again... And again until OneDrive is finished updating. I believe this dates back to early versions of Windows, way prior to OneDrive, where the right click menu would close by itself if the underlying file was changed by some invisible process or by another application, especially in networked environnements.

In those days, prior to OneDrive, it did not strike me as much as a problem because I guess the chances of this happening were quite low. However, nowadays, with the ubiquitous presence of OneDrive, it is hard not to notice how annoying this can be to the point where, in some cases, it slows us down in our work. I mean, something as simple as saving a file to a OneDrive folder and attempting to right click on the file to make it "Read Only" can take literally several attempts because the right click menu keeps disappearing. You can either try to beat OneDrive at it by right clicking quickly and selecting what you want in a blink or wait for OneDrive to be up to date by watching its icon in the tray area.

Is there a workaround or a fix to this that may have eluded me so far?

    :)

  2. Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

  3. "Recent Items" list vs Opening a folder for Recent Items

Right click menu on an item in a OneDrive folder keeps closing until update is finished :) Hello all... I am not understanding how MS elected removed the list of recent files and replaced it with opening a folder to see the recent files. That is now a 2 step process because you have to close the folder. I used the "recent items" a lot and I miss it - I'm sure others do ass well.
The solutions offered here only are partial, they only add the link to the start menu / jump lists, but those still open an actual folder which then has to be closed. If you open multiple files, then you have to close multiple folders. Odd...
I'm not a programmer - but I'm thinking (hoping!) that someone around here may be knowledgeable enough to find a way to return the actual "Recent Items" list, without opening a folder.
I'm thinking I may not be alone on this one...
    Thank you!!

Right click menu on an item in a OneDrive folder keeps closing until update is finished

    Feature suggestion: Add right-click menu

Suggestion: Please add a Windows 7 Jump-List and/or right-click menu to the GPU-Z icon in the Windows taskbar. Possible menus in it would be "Exit" and "About GPU-Z...".
Maybe also "Switch to tab 1/Switch to tab 2/Switch to videocard 1/Switch to videocard 2" too.
Examples of programs that have such menus are ICQ, Skype, AIM.

NOTE: It seems for a right-click menu, Windows 7 is not needed - it works on WinXP and Vista too.
But even a Windows 7 Jump-list may be good enough.
    What do you think?
