Windows 10: Right Click shuts down my documents and desktop

My Right click when I want to copy, or paste or use any function in my documents and files, shuts down the programme. The bottom bar disappears and it restarts itself, but I can still not right click without it happening again.

I have performed a sfc scan which allows the problem to stop and I can continue to right click with ease.

But when the computer restarts the problem happens again.

The sfc scan only allows it be work once it's been started or finished. Looking for a long term solutions with instructions.

Downloads folder is the Documents folder

I suggest you to Restore to Default the folders and document settings and see if it helps.

Step 1:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Download folder.
• Right click on the Download Folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

Step 2:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Documents folder.
• Right click on the Document folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

After performing above steps change the settings as you required and check if it helps.

To resolve your issue with flickering desktop, we suggest that you update your display drivers with the steps listed below:

• Right-click Start, then select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapters to find the name of your device.
• Right-click the device and select Update Driver Software.
• Follow steps to update display drivers.

Documents Destination

The next troubleshooting step we suggest is to restore the default location of the folders. To do this, follow these steps:

  Choose File Explorer.

  Type shell:UsersFilesFolder in the address bar.

  Right-click the Documents folder.
  
• 
  Click the Location tab.
  
• 
  Click Restore Default.

  Click OK.
  

Follow the same steps to restore the default location for your Pictures folder.



Give these steps a shot and check if the folders are unlinked from OneDrive.
