Discus and support Right clicking on any of the icons on my desktop shows Scan with TotalAV. in Windows 10 Customization to solve the problem; Problem is, I uninstalled that program.     Right clicking on any of the icons on my desktop shows Scan with TotalAV.


    Problem is, I uninstalled that program. Windows 10 Home 64 bit, if it matters.


    How do I fix this?

    No icons on desktop after startup only

    Welcome to the forum!

    Have you tried toggling the Desktop icons on and off?

    • Right-click on an open area of the Desktop
    • Click: View
    • If Show Desktop icons is already checked, uncheck it.
    • Repeat the above steps a time or two.
    • Check: Show Desktop icons

    If no go on the above, right-click on the empty Desktop, and create a file.

    Let us know if they come back on.

    try to right click on desktop you will find show desktop icon

    thanks for that.. i didn't notice the tutorial section :x

    I did the suggested registry change and it's now listed on the desktop context menu.. but all this does is ask if I want to open it, update, or start a scan... I was hoping for the option where you right click a specific file and it will have listed 'scan with windows defender' like other antivirus programs have.. MSE had it. I'll keep looking around to see if I can find it in the meantime..
