My USB Thering is not working on wifi network. I have trided uninstalling rndis drive changing it.

RNDIS USB Modem Dongle is not working after installing Windows 10 Fall Creators Update

A fix for this issue was included in the
January 31, 2018 Windows Update (KB4058258). If you are experiencing this issue, please install the latest Windows Updates.

If the issue continues after installing the update, you may need to uninstall and reinstall your Remote NDIS network adapter using Device Manager:

• Open Device Manager. To do this, press and hold (or right-click) the Start Menu icon and select Device Manager.
• Expand Network adapters and find an entry for the Remote NDIS based Internet Sharing Device.
• Right click Remote NDIS based Internet Sharing Device and select
  Uninstall device.
• Select Network adapters and then select Action and then
  Scan for hardware changes.

Note:

• Ensure that the RNDIS device is plugged in on the PC's USB when performing these steps.
• If the RNDIS device is moved to another USB port, these steps will need to be repeated.

Microsoft is aware of reports of problems with RNDIS USB network adapters after installing the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. We are working on the problem and hope to have a solution released in a future Windows Update.
We will update this thread when the fix is released. Until then, these steps should help you recover your modem functionality:

Notes:

• KB4051963 (OS Build 16299.98) must be installed before performing these steps.
  • To confirm OS build, go to Start > Settings >
    System > About.
  • To install the update, go to Start > Settings >
    Update & security > Windows Update, click
    Check for updates, then install any available updates.
• Ensure that the RNDIS device is plugged in on the PC's USB when performing these steps.
• If the RNDIS device is moved to another USB port, these steps will need to be repeated.

Step 1: Open Device Manager. To do this, press and hold (or right-click) the Start Menu icon and select Device Manager.

Step 2: Expand Network adapters and find an entry for the
Remote NDIS based Internet Sharing Device.

Step 3: Right click Remote NDIS based Internet Sharing Device and select
Update Driver.

Step 4: Select Browse my computer for driver software.

Step 5: Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers for my computer.

Step 6: Click Have Disk.

Step 7: In the “Copy manufacturer’s files from:” field, enter c:\windows\inf
and click OK.

Step 8: Uncheck the box for “Show compatible Hardware”.

Step 9: In the left pane, select Microsoft as the manufacturer, and in the right pane, select
USB RNDIS Adapter as the model. Click Next.

Step 10: You should now receive an “Update Driver Warning”. Select
Yes to continue installing this driver.

Step 11: Click Close.

Install RNDIS from command line

Hi ,

I have a minidrone. I can login to the minidrone when I connect the minidrone to Windows 10. In order to do this , I have to install RNDIS in device manager as shown in the image.





Now I know how to install the RNDIS manually. (Right click and update software and follow steps ). But I wanted to automate the process of RNDIS installation when I connect the device over windows 10.

Is there any command that I can use in command prompt to install the RNDIS which is already present in the Windows 10 installation in the background.

Please note that I am installing the 'Remote NDIS Compatible Device' under 'Microsoft' as the device driver for my minidroen and this is the installation that I want to automate.

 

Windows 10 Blue Screen when connecting to an RNDIS device.

We have a (legacy) device that is connected to Windows XP systems using a USB RNDIS connection. The device is an embedded Linux controller that is used in power management systems. We have thousands of these devices in the field. They are happy and stable using RNDIS over USB to set up an Ethernet connection between a Windows XP machine and the embedded linux device.

On attempting to build a new 'system' using windows 10 & the existing device, we find that Windows 10 regularly blue screens during the initial RNDIS negotiation. The blue screen happens about 20% of the time. The blue screen happens a few seconds after the RNDIS negotiation.

This problem occurs on all recent versions of windows 10.

This problem occurs on a wide range of PCs & laptops from different manufacturers (including Microsoft surface laptops).

If the RNDIS connection succeeds, then the two devices are happy and stable. The blue screen only occurs during the initial negotiation.

On inspecting the Windows kernel dump we see that windows is complaining of a 'list corruption'. The windows kernel dumps do not have a consistent call stack. Our guess is that a corruption occurs, some time later when using a 'list' that corruption is detected, then windows blue screens.

When looking at the message logs on the device side, we see a successful RNDIS connection established before the blue screen (i.e. the RNDIS filter is set by the windows PC).

We have windows kernel dumps etc that can be shared.

We are at a loss to determine how to fix this as we have limited visibility inside the Windows 10 RNDIS driver.

Any help would be appreciated.
