    Robocopy Help

I cannot seem to use even the basic functionality of robocopy. I set up two folders, Test1 and Test2 under C:\ . The command I am using is:

    robocopy C:\Test1 C:\Test2

    However, I get the error:

2021/01/31 11:10:03 ERROR 3 (0x00000003) Accessing Source Directory C:\Test1\ The system cannot find the path specified.

I am typing this command directly into the command line (not using task scheduler or a batch file) using an administrator account. I have also tried running command prompt as administrator with the same result.

    Need Robocopy Help

Andre, while I appreciate the info, with all due respect I don't have time to sort through that lengthy page trying to find the one bit of information I need.

This should be a simple and straightforward thing: can you help?

This is the Robocopy string I have now:

    robocopy "E:\Work Stuff" "V:\Work Stuff" "draft materials" "the imagination" /E /S /MOVE

    Robocopy Help

    Need Robocopy Help

    Hi all,

Need some help with Robocopy. I've looked online but I don't know how to phrase my searches to get what I need.

Here's the scenario: I do a lot of development and I need to stage backups in a particular way, and Robocopy has already helped a lot. Would be great to step it up, but I can't figure out how to get what I need.

I have all my files in one location:

    E:\Work Stuff\

And each project is in its own subfolder:

    E:\Work Stuff\Project1\

    E:\Work Stuff\Project2\

And so on. Then under each one, there are specific subfolders based on the specific needs, but there are two in particular that I know I'm going to be dealing with, "Draft Materials" and "The Imagination."

So what I'm trying to do is this:

Robocopy look through E:\Work Stuff and subfolders, and when it finds either "Draft Materials" or "The Imagination," it moves those folders (and only those folders) to my backup drive, while preserving the folder structure from E. So for instance:

We start with "E:\Work Stuff\Project2\Draft Materials", and I want Robocopy to look through folders until it finds Draft Materials; then I want it to go to my V drive and create "V:\Work Stuff\Project2" if it doesn't already exist, and move the Draft Materials
folder there without messing with anything else in the Project2 folder on the E drive.

I also want it to do the same to any instances of "The Imagination" that it finds.

Anybody know how to pull something like this off? Many thanks!
