Windows 10: ROBOCOPY: quirky behavior after DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME

I love using ROBOCOPY to perform my file backups but just after DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME occurs it appears to no longer perform a DIFFERENTIAL backup. Instead, ROBOCOPY starts copying as if it were the very first time. I know there is a 'DST' optional flag available but when using it, DST appeared to have no influence on the execution i.e., it still treats my copy as if it were the very first time. This adds a lot of time since my ROBCOPY has many files in many subdirectories. So my questions are:1 why does DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME force ROBOCOPY to start as if it had never performed a copy on my

This issue may happen if your region or time zone doesn't observe Daylight Saving Time (DST).

To check if DST is available, follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + S.
• Type Control Panel and press Enter.
• Select Clock, Language, and Region.
• Click Date and Time.
• Under Time zone, check if there's any indications regarding Daylight Saving Time.

I switched off and on that first one, and turned on the second one. Now my time is correct! Yay. Thanks wannagofast =)

When is the US gonna get rid of Daylight Saving Time?
We don't need that in the current modern days; It is an outdated "idea".


PS: I analyzed this scenario.
Assuming my settings aren't set to adjust the clock automatically somehow, Microsoft should implement a question on Daylight Saving Time. So, for example, once I turned on the computer today, the computer should've stated that today Daylight Saving Time ends (that the clocks get moved back one hour), and that the computer didn't seem to automatically do that. The computer should've asked if it should turn on that setting to automatically change the clock, if necessary.

 

Windows 10 Daylight Savings Time Not Working

I've tried doing this (Redirecting)
several times on three different machines (they're all having the same problem), but it doesn't work.

Here's what I do:

- Go into Date & Time - see both "auto adjust" and "set daylight savings" is off

- EITHER set daylight savings time to adjust, or auto adjust, and see that it is set

- If I do auto adjust time, it resets "set daylight savings time" to be off

- If I leave auto adjust off, but daylight savings to on, then click away, and click back, daylight savings is still off

My machine is fully updated, Windows 10, and I'm in PDT.
