Discus and support robotic glitching and computer lag when using any sort of headset that uses aux in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I've been having this problem for a while now every time I plug in an aux microphone my computer lags and makes robotic sounds whilst I'm playing...     I've been having this problem for a while now every time I plug in an aux microphone my computer lags and makes robotic sounds whilst I'm playing games. However, once I switch to headphones that use usb they work fine. I have tried a number of fixes some of which include cleaning out 3.5mm jack, setting the headset as default, a multitude of splitters and connectors, I've tried the audio splitter into usb and it still didn't work. I've bought 2 pairs of 3.5mm jack headsets to see if they worked, both of which did not. I've tried troubleshooting, disabling enhanced audio and hardware Excellerat

    Headset's Mic not working when connected to AUX?

    Hello,

    I have a JBL Live 500BT headset and the microphone works flawlessly when the headset is connected over bluetooth.

    However, when connecting the headset through AUX with the 3.5mm jack, and confirming it's a headset when asked by Realtek, only the headphones work and Windows claims there is no sound input device.

    It's not even working if i connect the headset to the PC's a microphone jack and set the device as a microphone device.

    The AUX cable does have a secondary microphone but that one only works when the headset is connected to a phone.

    Is it normal that a bluetooth headset's built-in microphone does not work when the AUX cable is used?

    Yes I have but it's still too low.

    UPDATE:

    So I think I found the culprit. The cable itself I connect the headset with has a low-quality built-in mic as well.
    Connecting the headset with that cable into the microphone aux enables that mic instead of the mic built in the headset.

    I was thinking of buying an aux cable without a built-in mic but I'd then need something like the following which I can't find anywhere.

    Does such a cable actually exist?

    problem with laptop's audio while connected to aux cable

    Hi Tom,

    In order for us to identify what triggers your laptop's issue when an aux cable is connected, we would like to gather more information:

    • Have you tried connecting the aux cable and the headset to a different computer?
    • Have you also tried connecting a different aux cable and headset to your laptop?
    • Does the brief sound from the laptop only play upon inserting the aux cable and headset?
