    Hello experts,

    During the past 2 weeks i've been having some troubles with my brand new laptop and i want to make sure that this is not a hardware malfunction. Since my experience with debugging windows errors and troubleshooting such issues is pretty limited and basic i would like you to help me out with this before returning the unit to the vendor.

    ROG edition G752VT laptop
    8gb ram (1 stick)
    gtx 970m
    i7-6700hq
    1tb hdd
    no ssd
    The only attached peripheral is a logitech m185 wireless mouse.
    Nvidia drivers are latest (the only one system notified me needs update).

    The laptop crashes, everything freezes for about 10 seconds or so then it automatically restarts. This only happened while having lineage2 (game) in background and browsing facebook using chrome, this time i had a steam download happening. Every bsod i got happened 1 second after i clicked a facebook or youtube link that opened a new chrome tab (not that it matters that much). The laptop came with w10 preinstalled and i was the first person to start it. I do not have any dubious, pirated or black market programs since i like to keep my system clean.

    I'd like to point out that i got the laptop yesterday, had some issues with CPU load in background, it was about 20% used while doing nothing. Tracing the issue lead me to some ACPI.sys file that was using these resources unnecessarily. googling around i found out that this might be caused by a variety of different drivers/programs/situations.

    Today , the CPU was in a normal state of 1-4% load in idle (the problem just got away...)
    After the last crash i also did a memtest using the w10 built in tool, 2 passes, it's probably not relevant. It found no issues.
    Another point i'd like to make is that i have already returned one laptop exact same model, because of the exact same crashes and situations.

    I will really appreciate your input and thank you in advance. If there's anything i might of missed or you need extra information from my side don't hesitate to reply. I'm usually an active person.

    Regards,
    Dan.

    :)

    I am having the same problem as well with my laptop as well (ASUS ROG G752VT-DH74)

    . I bought it in January and every single day it tells me it is scheduling an update. first it downloads then restarts then fails to apply changes then undoes changes restarts again and immediately lets me know that there are updates available.

    Hi CarlsbergFTW,

    Welcome to the 10forums.

    The crash was caused by a driver I believe is from ASUS software.
    Please remove the ASUS software and let me know how it goes *Smile

  5. tyvm, i also found out today that some asus bloatware - game first - might be causing these crashes (other users reported these behaviors).
    I'll come back with a new thread if issues will happen again meanwhile i'll mark this one as solved.
    Regards,
    Dan

  6. Thank you very much Axe0. I have also a ASUS G752VT and i had the same problem. My laptop was freezing and restart but much worse....at every 10 or 15 minutes. From 3 days i look for a solution, i reinstal the windows 5 times and almots made me crush the laptop.

    I deleted that driver nfc_driver.sys and now everything is working good. Hope will be that in future too.

    For those who have same problems with freeze and then restart the laptop...or need to shut down by force, this is what you have to do:

    What is nfc_driver.sys?

    - instal freefixer;
    - scan the computer;
    - after is done, look the driver nfc_driver.sys;
    - select only this driver;
    - scroll up and push fix;
    - reboot the windows;

    Note: If the driver wasn't deleted, make the steps again. Be careful what you select. Don't select more drivers. This nfc_driver.sys is considered as a bad driver for windows. Some antivirus software delete him by default so don't worry that is gonna hurt your window.

    Hope this will help more brothers in ASUS platforms.

    Good luck!
