    Root folder in File Explorer


    I am using File Explorer on Windows 11 Pro.I have this folder: C\Users\user\workspace in the address bar of File Explorer. C:\Users\user corresponds to the home folder of the user 'user'.Starting from that folder, I press the button with the arrow pointing upward "go to parent item".This is what I visit:- first up, I go to C:\Users\user\- second up, I go to DesktopWhy?The only way I have to visit my home folder is to write C:\Users\user in the address bar and this is very uncomfortable.

    Hi,

    The issue that you’ve encountered regarding the File Explorer may be caused by some configuration or files mismatched. To sort out your concern, we suggest that you reset the folder settings from the
    Folder Options. This will reboot the folder’s preferences to its default state and remove any possible software conflict. To do this, you may follow these steps:

    • Click Start, type File Explorer, and press
      Enter      .
    • On the File Explorer window, click the View tab > Options > Change folder and search options > View.
    • Under the Folder views section, click Reset Folders, and then select
      Yes to confirm.
    • Once you’re done, click OK, and then check if the issue persists.

    Note: This process will remove the list of files that you recently opened.


    Let us know if the suggestion works for you.

    showing the total of folders/files in drive root

    Properties are shown differently for folders and roots.
    Root properties only shows used and free space.
    Folder properties shows Size, Size on Disk, number of files/folders.
    Questions:
    1 - How can I discover on the root drive the total of folders and files on drive?
    2 - Better, how could I list the number of files within each folder?
    3 - Even better, how could I list the total of subfolders and files at each level within the tree branches?

    just go to the root folder and do a search for all zip files, then select all and extract where you want.
