Windows 10: Rotation Lock Option Greyed after Sleep Mode - HP Pavilion

Hi all, trying to work out an issue I'm having with my HP Pavilion. The other night, it went into sleep mode whilst rotated so that the keyboard is behind in the screen. Ever since I have woken it up from sleep mode a few days ago, the rotation lock option has been greyed out and the laptop will not longer automatically rotate to flipping the rotation if I flip the screen.


I've tried all the general troubleshooting solutions, even going as far as changing the AutoRotation values in the Registry editor, but rotation lock is still greyed out and the screen will not flip automatically.


Anyone else got any ideas on what I can do to fix this? Haven't found a similar issue online, just general troubleshooting for Rotation Lock being greyed out.

I'm in the same boat. Win10 on HP Spectre x360 - worked initially now it is grayed out in the notification window as well as in the display settings window.

I figured it out. Turn your 2 and 1 to portrait then rotate is clickable again. Somebody should fix this. Makes no sense at all. It sounds like a windows problem.

I have the same problem on my Surface Pro 3 but when I try the fix by changing to tablet mode so the grayed out option becomes available, turning off the locked screen does NOT change anything. It is still locked in landscape.

Rotation lock greyed out

I am using a hp pavilion and my problem is my screen rotation is locked , I cannot rotate my screen , I cant unlock the botton. please help me I have to use the rotation to use it for my musical shee, and if I read a book or watch a movie. thanks.

go to tablet mode then in display settings turn on landscape flipped and the rotate lock will out grey, then just turn it off.
