Windows 10: Router IP unreachable on my desktop reacheable via my macBook

Hello people! I have a pb my router IP 192.168.1.1 does not work since today, indeed on three different browsers the problem is the same it is blocked yet I have Internet I can go where I want but impossible to go on the routers I have uninstalled Kaspersky but it does not change anything then if you have an idea I'm a taker I thank you ? PS: I have access to the router through the MacBook or IPhone. it's a mystery for me especially when there is no more antivirus which managed the firewall : I hope one of you will have the click? Ethernet Can't Obtain an IP Address from My Router

I really appreciate everyone's ideas!

I'm working through the suggestions, and here's an update:

I removed my Kaspersky software using Kaspersky's own uninstaller (kavremover.) This did not solve the problem, unfortunately.

Next step: Restoring my router to default settings.

I performed two final steps:

I booted my computer from a live Linux distro; Linux detected my Ethernet controller but could not obtain an IP address for it from DHCP (demonstrating that the problem is not caused by Windows.)

I reset my modem to factory defaults - no help.

Therefore, it seems very clear to me that my problem - I am unable to obtain an IP address for an Ethernet connection - can only be caused by the router hardware. My router is 7 years old, and nothing lasts forever ... I accept that. Still, it does seem mysterious to me. My router consists entirely of electrical components - there's nothing to wear out or break. As long as I don't abuse it, it should probably last forever and the only reason I would have to replace it is because newer equipment is so much better.

My final step was to contact the router manufacturer (ASUS) who assigned me a case number. I can't imagine what incentive they have to assist me with a 7-year old router, but I'll give it a shot.

 

What's up with "Destination host unreachable" from my own IP?

I would suggest that while your internet was dying, sometimes your machine couldn't even get the request to your router (hence your IP-Address returned in your Destination host unreacheable) and sometimes it went through the router to the endpoint, but you couldn't get any response back, hence the Request timed out.

Safely Changing Router Password

HI Sherry,

You should still be able to manage your router's password even with the prompt for the site not being secure. Though if you are unable to completely access your router's gateway, you can use the router's IP.

To get the IP, follow the following steps.

• Press Windows key and X.
• Select Command Prompt.
• Type: ipconfig /all.
• On the information that will show, look for DHCP Server, take note of its IP.

You can type the IP to your browser to access your router's gateway.

If you are still having concerns with accessing your router's gateway, best to contact your internet service provider if they are the ones who gave the router, or the router's manufacturer for further assistance.
