Windows 10: RS232 Cable

For programming purposes, an RS232 cable is needed. So, I'm just curious if it can be used for video purposes as well. For example, when duplicating a screen. It appears to be a USB to VGA port and is less expensive.

Hi.

I've brought a Poport -> RS232 cable (NKI 7210) and so i've attached the devices on the comm1 of the pc but minicom shows me that he is in 'offline'.

So i have tryed with an older Samsung and its works...is a cable problem? a phone incompatibility? a pc problem? i need to decrease the baud or other value? i need to activate something in the phone?

The cable is PopPort -> RS232. there is a 'NKI 7210' label on the top.

How do i can check if the cable works well?

I've attached to my 6680 and opened minicom (telix on unix) but i got no answer.

So I've read on the web that the fbus type doesn't work within modem or pc suite, so the problem is...how do can do to check if is a cable problem? there is any software for check if the cable is ok?
