Because the source of the nomenclature is a piece of Microsoft documentation, I'd have to observe that the 1709 designation is more likely fact than rumor. I blogged about this yesterday, too, and found the source entirely credible. But in the absence of any kind of official pronouncement, I guess the timing is still up for grabs, eh? And of course, even though 1703 means "March 2017" we all know the first Creators Update didn't go public until April, either. Maybe that means 1709 will actually release in October to the public?
    Thanks for posting this,

PS added 15 minutes later, from Paul Thurrott's 6/28 story entitled "Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16232 Adds Enterprise Security Features":

No more app updates for now. As it does from time-to-time, Microsoft is freezing the delivery of new app updates to users of this build. Instead, you will need to keep using the app versions that shipped with the build. Which means you may see some new features temporarily disappear. It’s curious to me that Microsoft is doing this testing so early in the process: I bet they intend to finalize the Fall Creators Update by early August at the latest in order to meet the September street date.
    [/blockquote]

Brink: I'd have to guess that putting this tidbit together with the WZOR observation we both now wish we'd read this material more carefully the first time around. ;-)

    :)

That folder is where the latest version called 'Fall Creators Update' install files might be stored.

Given they are releasing two a year six months apart, this has to be the most spectacularly boring prediction of all time - LOL!

Too true, Cereberus, too true! But because we buy on the rumor and sell on the news, it still matters to some. Excellent point.

  6. I noticed new images for 1703 are up on MSDN. en_windows_10_multiple_editions_version_1703_updated_june_2017_x64_dvd_10725021. The old ones were marked updated_march". Still listed as 1703 though. Not sure what was fixed or changed though. Might be newer images on the MCT too? I'm thinking bug fixes, not new features.

  10. Yeah, likely so. The MSDN ISO's are usually only updated when new features go down the pipe. I'm hoping this fixes an issue I had with a clean install of Education. Might be tomorrow or the next day before I do a clean install as a test.
