Suggestion to have an option to change Notification Area icon this way too.
Suggestion to finally have proper separate Options window like most (all?) Windows programs do.

Generating a .txt based file list in Windows 7

I want to be able to generate a .txt file that lists all the files and folders in a specific folder on my PC, but don't know the name of any programs that do that. Searched on google a bit and came up with this guide, but it's for XP and I can't seem to find some of the folder options to modify the .bat file. Any suggestions? Thanks

EDIT: The .bat file will do what I want if it is in the folder I want to do it in, but the option I want to add is having the right click option that it shows.

Windows Task Scheduler - Running a .BAT File whether user is logged on or not

    Hi,

I am using Windows 10 Pro. I created a simple .BAT file with the following location and filename:

    C:\PK_Temp\test.bat

Currently, my test.bat file consists of just the following two commands ...

    Echo "Hi Paul"

    pause

... When I run this .BAT file manually, the Windows Command Prompt (C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe) opens, displays the text "Hi Paul", and remains open with the prompt "Press any key to continue...". After I press any key, the Command Prompt Closes.

After I proved this worked, I created a Task in Windows Task Scheduler to run this .BAT file. For the Trigger, I chose to Begin the Task on a Schedule and I selected "One Time". I made sure I set the Task to Enabled. For the Action, I chose "Start a program". For the Program/script I want the Task to run, I entered C:\PK_Temp\test.bat. On the General Tab, I selected to use my own Windows account 'Paul' when running the task. Initially, I selected the option to "Run only when user is logged on". After doing this, I am able to run the Task on demand from within Task Scheduler and the result is the same as when I run the .BAT file manually (as described above).

Ideally, I would like to be able to run this task when I am not logged on. Hoping I could make this happen, I changed the option from "Run only when user is logged on" to "Run whether user is logged on or not". In doing this, I left the checkbox unchecked for "Do not store password. The task will only have access to local computer resources." Other than this, I left everything else the same. After making this change and clicking OK, I was asked to enter my password, which I did.

After making this change, when I attempt to run the Task on demand from within Task Scheduler, the Windows Command Prompt does not appear and my .BAT file does not appear to be executed. With this being the case, the task status does show as "Running".

If anyone here can suggest how I might be able to get my .BAT file to execute with the setting selected for "Run whether user is logged on or not", I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance,

    Paul
